Security & Privacy

Are files uploaded to servers?

No, absolutely never uploaded!

All file processing in PDFJPG runs only in the user's browser. This is called client-side processing.

  • Processed within browser using JavaScript and HTML5 Canvas API
  • Files are not transmitted over the internet
  • Automatically released from browser memory after processing
  • Works without network connection (offline capable)

Can other people see my files?

Impossible. Files are processed only on the user's device, with the following security measures:

  • Files never leave the user's computer
  • All data is completely deleted when browser tab is closed
  • Not stored in temporary files or cache
  • Inaccessible to other websites or third parties
This is completely different from Google Docs or cloud services. Much safer.

Is HTTPS connection required?

Recommended but not required. File processing itself occurs only in the browser, so it works safely on HTTP as well.

HTTPS is needed in the following cases:

  • Using modern browser features (Service Worker, Clipboard API, etc.)
  • Secure connection to the website itself
  • Browser security policy compliance

However, since there is no network communication during file processing, it is safe regardless of HTTP/HTTPS.

Do you need registration or personal information?

Not needed at all.

  • All features available without registration
  • No collection of personal information such as email or phone number
  • No cookies or tracking
  • Ready to use immediately upon browser access

Technical & Usage

  • PDF.js
  • jsPDF
  • Canvas API
  • PDF-lib

When internet is needed:
  • Initial website load (HTML, CSS, JavaScript download)
  • External library loading (PDF.js, jsPDF, etc.)
When offline is possible:
  • File conversion when page is already loaded
  • When all resources are stored in browser cache

Since there is no network communication during actual file processing, conversion work is possible even offline once the page is loaded.

Does it work on all browsers?

Works perfectly on modern browsers.

Full Support:

  • Chrome/Edge 80+ (Recommended)
  • Firefox 75+
  • Safari 13+
  • Mobile Chrome, Safari

Limited Support:

  • Internet Explorer - Not supported
  • Old Android browsers (4.4 and below)
Required Features: HTML5 Canvas, File API, Blob API, ES6 JavaScript

Why is conversion speed slow?

Conversion speed is affected by the following factors:

File Related:

  • File size (larger files are slower)
  • Number of PDF pages
  • Image resolution
  • PDF internal structure complexity

Device Related:

  • CPU performance (JavaScript processing speed)
  • RAM capacity (browser memory)
  • Mobile vs Desktop
Expected Processing Time:
• 10MB PDF (50 pages): 30-60 seconds
• 5MB image: 5-10 seconds
• Multiple file batch processing: time per file × count

Features & Limits

Are there file size limits?

Optimized limits considering browser performance:

  • PDF: Maximum 25MB
  • Images: Maximum 10MB
  • Batch processing: Maximum 20 files
Limitation reasons:
Limitations considering browser performance:
• Mobile browser memory limits (usually 1-2GB)
• Canvas API maximum size limit (32,767 × 32,767 pixels)

For larger files, we recommend splitting the file or reducing quality to decrease size before conversion.

What file formats are supported?

Supported input formats:

  • PDF: .pdf (Adobe PDF standard)
  • Images: .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .webp, .gif (excluding animations)
  • Documents: Coming soon (.docx, .xlsx)

Supported output formats:

  • PDF: Adobe PDF 1.7 standard
  • Images: JPG, PNG, WebP
Quality characteristics:
• JPG: Lossy compression (suitable for photos)
• PNG: Lossless compression
• WebP: Next-generation image format (Chrome recommended)

Can I adjust conversion quality?

Yes, you can adjust quality settings.

PDF to Image conversion:

  • Quality settings: 50%, 75%, 90%, 100%
  • Output format selection: JPG, PNG, WebP
  • Resolution scaling: 75%, 100%, 150%, 200%

Image to PDF conversion:

  • Compression level selection
  • Page size and orientation settings
  • Image positioning and scaling options
  • Margin and layout customization
Quality vs File Size:
Lower quality = Smaller file size
Choose according to your needs!

Is batch processing possible?

Yes, batch processing is fully supported.

Batch processing capabilities:

  • Process up to 20 files simultaneously
  • Mixed format support (PDF + images)
  • Individual quality settings per file
  • Bulk download as ZIP file
Batch processing features:
• Real-time progress display
• Continue processing remaining files if individual file fails
• Download only completed files

Troubleshooting

When conversion fails or stops

Common causes of conversion failure:

File-related issues:

  • Corrupted or damaged files
  • Password-protected or encrypted PDFs
  • Unsupported file format or version

Browser-related issues:

  • Insufficient browser memory
  • Browser compatibility issues

Solutions:

  • Try a different browser or update current browser
  • Reduce file size or split large files
  • Close other browser tabs to free up memory
Persistent issues:
If problems continue, please contact our support team with details about your browser, file size, and error messages.

Mobile speed is too slow

Mobile optimization tips:

  • File size: Recommended under 5MB
  • Memory: Close other apps to free up memory
  • Connection: Use Wi-Fi for faster initial loading
  • Performance: Disable battery saving mode for better CPU performance
Mobile limitations:
• RAM limitations make large file processing difficult
• Battery saving mode reduces performance
• iOS Safari is generally the fastest browser

Converted files won't download

Common download issues:

  • Pop-up blocker: Allow PDFJPG site downloads
  • Browser settings: Check download permissions in browser settings
  • Storage space: Check if device has sufficient storage space

Alternative solutions:

  • Try right-clicking the download button and selecting 'Save as'
  • Use incognito/private browsing mode
  • Clear browser cache and cookies
Important note:
Some corporate networks or strict security settings may block automatic downloads. Contact your IT administrator if issues persist.

How to improve conversion quality?

Quality improvement tips:

Best practices:

  • Use high-quality source files
  • Select highest quality settings (90-100%)
  • Choose appropriate output format (PNG for graphics, JPG for photos)
Quality factors:
Output quality depends on source file quality, conversion settings, and chosen output format.

Conversion quality is lower than expected

Quality troubleshooting guide:

PDF to Image quality issues:

  • Increase resolution scaling to 150% or 200%
  • Use PNG format for text-heavy documents
  • Select maximum quality setting (100%)

Image to PDF quality issues:

  • Use high-resolution source images
  • Avoid multiple compression (don't convert already compressed images)
  • Choose appropriate PDF compression level
Important limitations:
• Low-resolution PDFs become blurry when enlarged
• Scanned documents cannot be recognized as text without OCR
